Hot Hot Hot

Holy heatwave!  For those of you on the West Coast, you know what I am talking about.  In our 13 years of living in California we have never seen it this hot for this long.  It has consistently been 111 degrees this week.  We read that Death Valley hit 130 degrees!  I can't even imagine.

The seasons play an integral role in Eastern Philosophy and lifestyle. And typically for 12 days a season the heat will be elevated, this time is referred to as "hottest season."

I went to college at St. Lawrence University, a small liberal arts college in Upstate New York.  I mean waaaaaay upstate.  The school was located 20 miles from the Canadian border. And the Winters were COLD!  I often wonder how I lived in that ice and snow and cold.  But, I have vivid memories of the temperature rising to 50 degrees in the month of January.  We would all be outside in the snow in our shorts or even bathing suits to catch some rays.  That time was so much fun and so memorable.

When I'm referring to hottest season, that is what I am referencing.  The time when it unexpectedly gets warmer.  That is what I am referring to when I say "hottest season."

How can you support your body during these times of extreme heat and temperature fluctuations?  The spleen is the organ that will assist your body to remain in balance with these temperature surges.

ACTION:  Holding your thumb helps support the Spleen Function Energy.  Hold each thumb for several minutes.  If you have studied Jin Shin Jyutsu in depth, you can utilize the full Spleen Function Energy Flow.

As always, stay safe and BE well.
