How Long Should I Hold?

I am often asked the question, “how long should I hold?”  The answer is simple, as long as you want!

What do I mean by this?  For people who are new to Jin Shin Jyutsu, I like to talk in terms of breaths.  Counting breaths is easier then just holding and holding and holding.  Counting breaths gives you a guide to follow.

This is how I developed the idea of the 4 Minute Flow.  Just by holding each finger for 3 breaths you can help yourself feel better in under 5 minutes.

Every new client starts his or her session with the 4 Minute Flow.  I watch them shift right before my eyes!  Instantly they feel a difference and experience the magic of their own hands.  Now they know it works!

As clients feel the positive effects of Jin Shin Jyutsu the next question is, “Can I hold longer than 3 breaths?”  Of course!  I then I extend the number of breaths following the principles of numerology.

3 represents relationship (developing a relationship with yourself)
6 ~ represents balance (bringing each attitude into harmony)
9 ~ represents ending a cycle, beginning anew (letting go & moving on)

There are no rules, just guidelines to help the FLOWs work more efficiently.
